Sim Wheels | Fitment & Size Guide
Getting the perfect stance for your car is an art. Use this guide to ensure your new wheels fit perfectly and look aggressive.
1. PCD (Bolt Pattern)
The PCD determines if the wheel will physically bolt onto your car. European brands have specific standards:
5x120 (Classic BMW Pattern): Used on BMW F-Series (e.g., 1 Series F20/21, 3 Series F30/31, 4 Series F32/36) and older models.
5x112 (Modern Standard): Used on all Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and newer BMW G-Series (e.g., 3 Series G20/21, 4 Series G22, New 2 Series G42) from 2019 onwards.
Rule of Thumb: If your BMW is pre-2019, it’s likely 5x120. If it’s 2019 or newer, it’s likely 5x112. Always check your owner's manual if unsure.
2. ET (Offset) - The "Stance" Factor
The Offset (ET) determines how much the wheel pokes out toward the fender:
High ET (e.g., ET 45-50): The wheel sits deeper inside the wheel well (OEM/Standard look).
Low ET (e.g., ET 30-35): The wheel pushes outward for a "Flush Fitment" (Level with the car's body). This is the secret to a wide, aggressive look without using spacers.
3. Brake Clearance (M-Sport & AMG)
If your car is equipped with performance brakes (e.g., BMW Blue M-Sport Calipers or Mercedes AMG Big Brakes), you need extra room:
Our Advice: For cars with big calipers, we recommend choosing a lower Offset (ET 30-35). This provides the necessary "X-Factor" (clearance) between the wheel spokes and the brake caliper.
4. Center Bore (CB)
This is the center hole of the wheel that fits onto the car's hub:
BMW F-Series: 72.6 mm
BMW G-Series / Audi / Mercedes: 66.6 mm
All Sim Wheels are designed to be "Hub-Centric" or come with the necessary centering rings for a vibration-free ride.
5. Wheel Width (J) & Staggered Fitment
The width of the wheel (measured in inches, e.g., 8.5J or 9.5J) defines how wide your tire footprint will be and plays a major role in achieving that aggressive stance:
Square Setup (Same width front & rear, e.g., 8.5J all around): Ideal for balanced handling, everyday comfort, and allows for easy tire rotation.
Staggered Setup (Wider rear wheels, e.g., 8.5J Front / 9.5J Rear): The ultimate performance setup for rear-wheel-drive European cars. It gives your car a muscle-bound rear end, maximum traction, and a deep, concave look on the back wheels.
